Ullswater : Revisited

Autopano testing

Ulleswater steamer

I’ve been playing around with this new software application I have just bought called Autopano. It’s designed to stitch together mulpiple images to form panoramas or so-called GigaPixel images. I’d have to say that this is one of the most impressive pieces of software I have ever used. It’s not perfect with difficult sets of images such as this one but in general it is several orders of magnitude better than anything else I have used over the years and there have been many. The sunset photo in the previous blog is also done using it and required no re-touching. This one on the other hand did need a little editing to remove a colour abberation. It has also failed to remove several images of the Ullswater Steamer which it would normally do. It may just need tweaking a bit.

I’ve just noticed you are running the Kielder Greys Summit Race. It looks good. Unfortunately I’m not free, otherwise I’d join you.
    Happy New Year!

Thanks Bryan, Happy New Year to you too. Not quite sure on the Kielder thing, depends how training goes over next week or so.
