Not Just Running


Now there’s wheels

I’ve just taken delivery of a new Ridley XBOW Cyclocross bike and resisting the temptation to go for miles and miles.

My trip out on the bike the other weekend somewhat revived my desire to add something else to the training and exercise regimen. Running as everyone knows is something of a high impact sport and in the end my knees would give out, especially at my advanced age, or so I’m told. Cycling on the other hand is low impact and seemingly more efficient. After toying with the idea of a mountain bike then a hybrid I eventually came down on the xcross style on the advice of others; ‘perfect for the road and good even for the trail or tracks’.
